Never a dull moment

So to add to the excitement of birthday celebrations, our two year old son decided (unintentionally) to brake his leg just before heading to DQ on Hailey's birthday. When he still refused to walk on it when we got home I, being the good mother that I am, rather than telling him to suck it up - actually called the Dr....who said to let him sleep and if he still wasn't bearing any weight in the morning - we should take him in....well once the early morning hourse crept in...he still wasn't able to stand or walk. I took him in and sure enough - it's broke!! Right through the tibia bone (weight bearing bone in the shin) so it's no wonder he couldn't walk...poor baby. He was put in a full-leg splint to support it until we could see the Orthopedic surgeon today (my birthday). He is now equipped with a full leg blue cast from hip to toe...for the next 6 weeks. NO walking at all...so we are now the proud parents of a 30lb. infant. Not complaining though....it could be MUCH worse!! He still has a smile on his face and we are very thankful for that!! Enjoying his new lego tractor set from Grandpa and Grandma. He will sit quitely and play with this for quite awhile. Thanks mom!!

Showing off his new car and truck!

He was thrilled to stop on the way home to pick out a blue truck...but when he spotted the cop car like daddy's - he had a firm grasp on both. Who could turn that down after all he's been through?!

Poor little guy! My friend's little girl (5) just did that same thing, except she was under the trampoline with her legs up and got jumped on. At least he'll still have the a good part of the summer to run around! Good luck keeping him entertained...that sounds like a good job for the 3 big kids!
