One of the things the kids have to look forward to in Mrs. Meenderinck's class is to be the "VIB" - very important bear. The kids get to take home a bear and write in the journal of the things they do throughout the week. At the end of the week, the student invites a special guest to their classroom. Hailey selected her daddy as her special guest. He spoke about the importance of being a police officer and all the training that goes into it. He also brought his SWAT gear and each of the kids got to try it on (all 50 pounds)....and yes - even Mrs. M had her turn.
What a proud moment it was for me as the mom, watching my daughter "show off her dad" and being the wife watching how much my husband loves talking about the importance of his job. So much to be thankful for!!
