For the past eight years we've been camping the last weekend of summer with a group of families. I think the first year there was about 8 families with about 27+ kids! This year it was just the Likkels and Wubbens with the Wiersma's visiting a few times! Regardless of the number of families that were there....it's a highlight for our kids' summer. Yes - we realize we are only camping a mile from home, however it is a great spot! Once we are there - we feel as though we are miles away! We look forward to this trip all summer long!

maybe some day i'll understand WHY you guys load up the camper to go a mile down the road, sleep on flat mattresses, shower in public showers, eat with dirt everywhere and then call it a VACATION!!! really, girls, i'm trying...
